Built in 1898, only 12 years after gold was discovered in Johannesburg, the majestic old manor was one of the first houses to be built in Auckland Park (next to Melville). It has been home to some of Johannesburg’s most prominent families, including the Du Plessis family for some 41 years. The house has been carefully restored to reflect its distinguished heritage, characterized by the old-world charm and comfort of high-pressed steel ceilings, thick walls, and wooden floors. Our business was established in 2004.
